Object — 150 Years of Mata Hari
On Saturday, June 27, we are bringing a special solo performance to Theater De Bres in Leeuwarden, which is free to attend. Object is part of the 150 Years of Mata Hari jubilee year, which Leeuwarden is celebrating this year from May 23 through August 7. This compelling solo by dancer Alice Leoni explores loneliness, longing, and the objectified body — intense, virtuosic, and unforgettable in just 20 minutes. Afterwards, there will be a talk-back with the choreographer, dramaturg, and dancer. Object premiered on March 26, 2011, and has since been performed in Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, and South Korea.
The press has previously written about Object:
“An intriguing work that captivates and challenges in an extraordinary way. Phenomenal!” — Het Parool
“An incredibly interesting demonstration of mental and physical malleability.” — NRC Handelsblad
