We Are In Trouble

We Are In Trouble

The dance performance We Are In Trouble, by the Dutch/Israeli choreographer duo Ivgi&Greben, brings together a group of wandering dancers and depicts the process of detention and displacement in a very intimate and penetrating way. The men and women are constantly in motion, unable to connect with their surroundings, but seem to be less and less able to let go of each other. Flowing compositions that strongly influence your empathy, make the abstract movements understandable, making you feel part of the group.

World premiere: 3 februari 2018 – Stadsschouwburg De Harmonie, Leeuwarden, the Netherlands

‘Ivgi&Greben has been given the opportunity to conquer a place in the Netherlands. Based on their long service record and this convincing performance, they certainly deserve it.’

Theaterkrant, 4 ****

‘…energetic performance, We Are In Trouble. Eight dancers are moving almost non-stop…’

De Volkskrant

‘How enchanting misery can be. A raw, intense show, in which the fleeing human being is central.’

Leeuwarder Courant, 4 ****

‘Liberating to see so much movement language in the Dutch dance landscape that is dominated by non-dance. I’m glad Ivgi&Greben have returned to the Netherlands and hopefully we’ll see a lot more of them in the near future.’
